Warning: A Lopsided Blog

This blog is our "all play, no work" website because we have to limit this blog to personal/family updates only and will continue to send work-related news via our snail mail letter. Also, to check the current time in our city, please scroll down to our time stamp at the bottom of this page.

Sweat Equity

Armed with a "Big Lunch" and some work clothes, David has been logging time at our new house, plastering the walls himself in order to save us (a lot of) money. If you can read the Cyrillic, you'll see that the instant noodle package David is holding reads "Big Lunch" in Russian. It doesn't use the Russian words for "big" and "lunch." It just phonetically spells it out with Cyrillic letters. David likes them because he now fits in with the other construction workers on our site who introduced him to the delicious world of "Big Lunch."

It's not exactly the "breakfast of champions" but for now, it's been enough to keep David going as he plasters.

Here are the men who are working alongside David to complete the house.
So many of you have asked us about our move-in date. We're getting closer and hope to move-in sometime in the next 2 months. We're down to the final details ... hoping to start painting the walls, sanding the floors and putting in the appliances & fixtures. Thanks so much for joining us on this journey ... please continue to pray for this final push to finish the house!

And someone else is logging a lot of hours for his new job ... my younger brother, Jake, began his new position as an English teacher at a junior high school in South Korea! Check him out teaching dangling participles ... or gerunds ... or compound nouns. Not sure WHAT he's teaching but doesn't he look great teaching it? ;)

And I'm pretty sure none of my junior high classrooms looked like this...
