A Park (finally!) Worth Visiting

Don't get me wrong, this city has PLENTY of "parks." Some of them are very beautiful - pretty greenery, flowers, benches, fountains, etc. But you're not allowed to walk on the grass and it is rare to find a (free) safe play area for kids.

Do any of you remember me moaning this summer about the absence of good kid-friendly parks here? I remember telling some of you, "If we just had ONE nice kiddie park in the city, it would change our lives here."

Well, such a park was in the works and completed by the time we returned! Thank you, God!!!
We love it - it's the only outdoor plastic playground equipment we know of in town (other than the one at a McDonald's across town from us) and it's all FREE! And the icing on the cake is that it's very close to the house we're building. We're so grateful! You can see the two playground structures in the background. There's something about hearing the girls giggle as they slide down the slides that warms and delights my heart.
