MOVING

Boxes of macaroni & cheese and lots of Blue's Clues episodes.

That's how we survived this move from our flat to our "temporary" house. We are 80% moved ... a big truck
is coming tomorrow to help us with our furniture. Hopefully, by tomorrow or Tuesday night, we will be 100% moved.

"We need you to move out to make room for my daughter's family" were NOT the words we expected to hear from our landlord just a few days after we flew back from the States. But God truly has worked everything out for us. I joke about macaroni & Blue's Clues because all credit truly goes to God for helping us through this transition.

We won't have internet access for the next few days so we'll be back in touch after the dust settles! Thanks for praying for us! [The photo above was taken exactly 2 years ago in front of our apartment building when we first arrived.]

UPDATE ADDED OCT
OBER 6, 2008
We are finally 100% moved into our new home and we're so thankful for this great, temporary set-up. Our "permanent" house won't be finished until January or February 2009 so we're grateful for this cozy house (which is also MUCH more closer to our office and to the girls' schools).

This was the girls' final view of the apartment before the moving truck arrived later that morning. I was ushering the girls out the door for school when David wanted one last shot of them waving goodbye to their first overseas home.

Oddly, it was hard to say good-bye to the flat because it held so many important memories and milestones! David was reminding me that this was the flat where Annalise (and later, Moriah) graduated to the big girl bed, where Verity & Annalise started going to school, where Moriah learned to walk, where Annalise healed from her scary bout of pneumonia, where Verity gave her life to the Lord ... and the list goes on. We thank God for giving us this great flat for 2 years!

While all 3 girls were in school, we (actually, a team of big mover men) moved all the heavy furniture and the rest of our boxes/bags over to the new home. Yes, it was chaotic while we unpacked. It looked this messy for a few days but now (2 weeks later), we're definitely settled-in (but still no reliable internet).

And here they are returning from school ... instead of driving home to the only flat they've known here, they were driven to their new house. David snapped a photo as they walked through the gates for the first time. Welcome home, girls!!! Thanks for being so patient and sweet amidst the chaos of packing and moving! We're so proud of you!
