Verity turns SIX!

Verity went back and forth about what type of birthday party she wanted to for her 6th birthday. After looking at her cousin Macy's photo album, she decided she wanted to have a "not quite spend the night" party, also! So ... finally ... she landed on a (pretend) pajama party with a My Little Pony theme.

And ... for the first time ... Verity wanted it to be a "girls-only" party!

We thank God for 6 wonderful years with dear Verity in our family. She loved her birthday party (at one point in the evening, she even hugged my waist and said, "I love my party. Thanks for setting it up, Mommy!" Priceless.)

Enjoy this photographic tour of her special night.

Birthdays in the Williams Family start the night before with the traditional paper crown - printed with name and age. The girls LOVE the privilege of decorating their own birthday crown with stickers (in Verity's case, My Little Pony stickers).

The guests arrived dressed in their pajamas, sleeping bag in tow. After a simple dinner of pizza, veggies and fruit, we started the pamper portion of the party. What's a pajama party without a bit of girl-y pampering?

Station 1: Mini-Massage a la Jenni

Moriah was not about to be left out of the festivities. Here she is getting a mini hand massage with pink, smelly lotion.

Station 2: Nail polish a la Auntie Elaine
After the massage, it was on to the nail polish station with my cousin, Elaine, who applied purple nail polish on all the little girls' tiny fingernails!!

Station 3: A My Little Pony tattoo a la Auntie Jen
And for the finishing touch, my good friend, Jen (her daughter, Lily, is in the background) applied My Little Pony tattoos on the girls' hands.

After one more game and after opening all her presents, it was time to sing "Happy Birthday" to Verity. Moriah & Annalise felt like Verity needed a little bit of help with the candles.

And every pajama party needs a good curl-up-in-your-sleeping-bag-and-watch-a-movie segment. So, we popped in a Gigi: God's Little Princess DVD (click here for videos by Sheila Walsh) and let the girls take in a cute, 30-minute show.

And this post would not be complete without a huge thank you to our dear friends, Lisa & James Kopitzke. Because we had messed up my parents' home with all our suitcases strewn about, they were so gracious to open up their home for Verity and all her friends. Thank you, Kopitzke family! Lisa even presented each of our girls with a new teddy bear (get this) dressed in tiny, teddy bear pajamas. God truly has given us the most generous (and the most thoughtful) friends!
