Giving Thanks

Growing up, certain traditions marked the arrival of Thanksgiving for me.

The long drive to Woodland Hills to my aunt's home. The Korean galbi next to the beautiful turkey. The house PACKED with aunts, uncles and cousins from my mom's AND dad's side of the family. Sneaking away to the movie theater with my cousins while the adults continued their conversations.

Now that we're living overseas, those "markers" have changed a bit
but they are still huge blessings nonetheless.

So what I have come to expect in our overseas Thanksgivings?

My girls rolling-up their sleeves and diving in to help with the meal prep. Their favorite task? Peeling carrots for carrot souffle.

A beautiful table set for a crowd. This year? 42 hungry friends.

My friend Elisa's beautiful fruit turkey.

Wonderful friends with whom to celebrate.

Rich family time.

And silly family time. ;)

And most of all, the same God I loved and thanked during my childhood Thanksgivings is the same God who has blessed us year after year as we continue our adventure overseas.

Happy Thanksgiving ... it's a blessing to have you in our lives.

The best time of my day is reading new posts! I dont know if I'm bias because you are my sister but you are quite possibly the best blogger I know. Each post is interesting and clean, to the point, and always has a great message that we can all relate and learn from. Also, the picture selection is just right. Your holiday perspective is like a slice of pumpkin pie to me sis... that long drive to Auntie Won Oks was such apart of our Thanksgivings. Remember that big mansion building on the side of the freeway, it meant we were close. I always wanted to run around in there :) And playing the racing game! Where we always won because when the car passed our car, they were out of the race haha! Or on the way home, i loved writing on the windows and eventually falling asleep, ahhh memory lane. Also, having both sides of the family was a real treat, we were blessed. Well, great posts Jenni and happy holidays Williams.
