Tutus and Ribbons

Hooray! Finally some extracurricular options for our girls!!!

The girls' school started to offer gymnastics and ballet classes this fall and it has been one of the highlights in our girls' weekly schedule!

Did anybody else grow up admiring Nadia Comaneci, the Romanian gymnast? I remember watching her made-for-TV movie around the time the world was going crazy over Mary Lou Retton. And so I just had to be a gymnast, too! It feels like just yesterday I was tumbling at Flairs Gymnastics in Pasadena as a little girl.

It doesn't seem real that it's now my turn to watch my own children twirl, dance, flip and tumble. A huge "thank you" to the other mothers who recruited teachers an
d made this option available to our girls and their classmates!

Um, I'm pretty sure there was a time in my life
when I could have done this, too. ;)

Annalise practices twirling her ribbon
(the class is a rhythmic gymnastics class).

Ballet class offers the opportunity to overdose on pink clothing,
dance with their girlfriends and to even learn national dance moves.
