LONDON CALLING

It's so like God to not only provide for our needs but to throw in a bonus blessing.

And it's so like me to doubt and freak out whenever I face any sort of snafu in life. I have read Philippians 4:6 many times but I have yet to learn how to regularly live it out.

Case in point: trying to find an affordable flight back to the States.

During our first round of ticket-hunting, the prices we found were ridiculously
high. My reaction? "There's no way we're flying home this summer."

David's reaction? I love this about my husband. He actually gets excited and says, "It's going to be so cool to see how God provides for this need."

A few weeks later, David researched some other options at the local travel agency
and he was right. Not only did God provide (roundtrip tickets at HALF the price of our original quote) but this one included a forced layover in London on the way home. We got to spend 2 days in London and the trip now ranks as one of our favorite family memories.

You can click here to see highlights of our London layover ... we picked just a few to
show below.

Buckingham Palace was our first destination. The 2nd photo below (of the guards) shows how we had a great view of the Changing of the Guard ceremony but it also means we were smashed in by the crowd behind us!
And we knew we couldn't leave London without a meal of fish & chips.
I suspected that the Peter Pan playground (in the Princess Diana Memorial Park) would be the girls' highlight and I was right. When I asked them, "What was your favorite part about London?" they screamed, "Playing in the Peter Pan Playground!"
Posing in the pillars of St. Paul's Cathedral.
Touring the city atop a double-decker bus (Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament in the background).
Every time I see these photos, it reminds of God's provision ... getting us home and throwing in some London sights to boot. We are so grateful! Again, you can click here for more London photos.
