Because of Easter, we are not mourning my aunt's passing as "those without hope" but rather, with the peace that the events of this week made it possible for my aunt to die with the assurance that she will be with God forever.
As Palm Sunday kicks-off "Passion Week" in our family, we wanted to share a few photos.
From those of you who were with us last Palm Sunday, you know we give our children their baskets on Palm Sunday so that Easter morning is solely focused on the Resurrection. If we get THIS much joy from watching our children enjoy their tiny treats, how much more God must love watching us enjoy His many blessings!
The girls got dressed for church and posed for one more "basket" photo. Their schools are on Easter break now so we are looking forward to a slower week where we can enjoy being with our girls and learning more about Easter together.
Verity & Annalise (holding hands in their lavender dresses) were so excited about weaving in and out of the church aisles with all the children as they sang the song "Hosanna in the highest" with many of the other kids waving palm branches.
We do wish each of you a wonderful Easter week!
And in closing, we picked out a recent photo of each girl to share...
Verity (6 this summer) is a great helper. One morning, we heard Verity & Annalise get up early and scurry to the kitchen. We could hear them hammering out a game plan ... "You get the plates" ... "Do you think Mommy wants us to cut off her crust?" ... "I'll get the jelly" and so on.
By the time I walked into the kitchen (I lingered in the bedroom to give her enough time to finish her "surprise"), she had placed a plate of toast on the table for everyone in the family. Her conclusion? "After making breakfast for everyone, I now know how hard it is to make meals for five people ... every day!" Very insightful, Verity! =)
Annalise (4 this summer) absolutely LOVES it when I come and help out at her preschool. Last month, the preschool had an "international theme" and I helped out with their "Korea Day." As you can see, she was thrilled to show off her hanbok. Posing with us is "Miss M" - one of the preschool's teacher aides. We are soooo thankful for the quality teachers and teacher aides who love on our preschoolers!
Moriah (2 going on 12), shown here enjoying her carrot, is the only one in our family who has lived the "majority" of her life overseas! (Annalise is close - she's 50/50). It's hard to believe that we flew over here with an 8-month old baby and that when we fly home this summer, she will be a headstrong, fun-loving 2 1/2 year old! I am so looking forward to her creating more memories with loved ones in the States. Although she can probably name a few people in photos, I feel blessed that she will get to spend some face-to-face time with them as well!

dave n jenni what kind of p 'n j techniques are my nieces learning? as you can see verity has jelly on before the peanut butter and we all know its way easier to other way around! and her knife handling skills could use some improvement; man i guess ill have a workshop when ya'll get back here... i know the post says its jelly on toast for breakfast but i think you are covering up for verity... i smell conspiracy here... wait a minute, is that butter under the jelly? i stand corrected but we are still having a peanut butter n jelly workshop ;)
