He is Risen!

Happy Easter! The girls have been home from school (for spring break) so here is a peek into last week's activities ...

One of the biggest holidays in this country is not Easter but Novruz which centers on the arrival of spring. Last week, our girls joined some friends to watch the festivities in the center of the city. I love that I can now send the girls outside without a winter jacket.

Our heart every Easter is to help everyone in the family truly celebrate the incredible truth of what Christ did for all of us. Coloring eggs is a popular activity for the kids especially after a reading of The Legend of the Easter Egg which uses the egg to illustrate how Easter signifies new life!

One of the visual highlights of the week for me was our paper cross. On Good Friday, our family took time to confess and write down some of our sins on little pieces of paper. We then taped them onto this paper cross. All Friday and Saturday as I looked at this cross, I was reminded of God's grace in my life.

On Sunday morning, the girls awoke to find that all the pieces of paper had been removed and replaced with a heart that read, "It is finished. We are forgiven." What a great reminder of God's complete work on the cross.

We feel so blessed to have celebrated Easter with good friends on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful feast followed by an egg hunt for the kids. We truly wish that each and every one of you enjoyed a great Easter!
