First, the angel.
On the last day of school at Moriah's former preschool, I took Moriah with me to drop off some Christmas treats for the 3 teachers. Though Moriah is no longer a student there, they have asked repeatedly for Moriah to come visit.
Turns out they were having their Christmas play and lunch party that day and begged us to stay for the festivities. Though I was looking forward to a quiet day at home with Moriah while her 2 older sisters were in school, I finally gave in and agreed that Moriah and I would WATCH the play.
I ran out briefly to buy some cookies for the lunch party and when I returned, I saw Moriah decked out as an angel. CLASSIC. Somehow in the few minutes I was gone, Moriah went from spectator to performer. She was recruited to be an angel ... in a play they were just about to perform for all the parents!
And the kicker? Moriah followed along as if she'd been rehearsing all month with the other kids. She was supposed to wave these red and green ribbons to a song and she didn't miss a beat!
Moriah poses with her former teacher, Miss Gulya, and "Joseph" (aka Dylan from Tennessee).
Taking her spot in the nativity scene next to Mary & Joseph,
watching the arrival of the wise men.
And now ... about the s'mores. Our gas has been either non-existent or too low since the weather turned cold in October. Without enough gas pressure, our radiators do not heat our home! And so David had the foresight to grab this wood-burning stove when some friends were trying to get rid of it. It will be a great alternative source of heat for us this winter. But for the girls? It's our new "s'mores-making machine!" The girls love roasting marshmallows on the fire and the adults love laying chestnuts on top for a delicious roasted treat. A win-win for all of us! ;)
