A Ballet to Brighten the (Freezing) Day

Frozen water pipes, power outages, carbon monoxide leaking from our heaters, long illnesses ... it was definitely time for something FUN to take our attention off the not-so-easy winter we were (are) experiencing.

Good thing the Nutcracker Ballet was in town and good thing our friends (their kids pictured below with our girls in front of the Ballet & Opera Theatre) invi
ted us because a fun afternoon with neat friends was just what our family needed! The group ballooned up to over 30 of us ... mostly young girls "ooh-ing" and "aah-ing" over the ballerinas!
A glimpse into what our girls saw ...

... then it was back to reality. Moriah & Annalise are pictured here playing with the snow David placed by our Iranian heater. We had no water that day and we were melting it so that we could flush our toilet!
