Warning: A Lopsided Blog

This blog is our "all play, no work" website because we have to limit this blog to personal/family updates only and will continue to send work-related news via our snail mail letter. Also, to check the current time in our city, please scroll down to our time stamp at the bottom of this page.

Operation Move-In-By-February-2009

At first glance, there are a few "cons" about the location where we are building our home. It's located HIGH up on a hill and therefore, the land was much cheaper. But the utilities are not as reliable (but we are confident they will improve as the years go by). And the road is not paved and it's VERY bumpy (though we keep hearing rumors that they are paving our road soon).

And ... there are no city water lines to our neighborhood yet. So there is a large water tank built under our yard and we have to pay a water truck to come up and fill it. An electrical pump then sends the water into the house. Since electricity is not as reliable up on our hill, we built a small "emergency" water tank in our attic that we can use when we're without power.

But you can't deny us this - we have a killer view of the sea. David took Ve
rity up to the house today to check on the progress ... here she is relaxing on our balcony.

If all goes well, the builders say they can finish the house by January or February 2009. Here's hoping for a Valentine's Day party in our new house!

Verity checks out the progress inside the house ... they
have started building the walls that divide our rooms.
