All I have to do is say the word "airplane" and our girls start squealing. That's because they know we're boarding an airplane in a few weeks to visit California and Tennessee!!! And to be honest, the adults are doing a bit of squealing, too!
In many ways, it's hard to believe that almost 2 years has passed since we first moved here. When I noticed yesterday that Annalise was wearing the outfit that Verity wore on the airplane 2 years ago, I realized that 2 years have indeed passed.
Moriah is now wearing Annalise's clothes, Annalise is now wearing Verity's clothes and Verity ... well, let's just say we'll need to replenish her wardrobe this summer! =)
We are thrilled, to say the least, about seeing you all again this summer! On the other hand, exciting things are happening here and our entire family will miss our friends here.
In general, we are adjusting to life here. Like any country, it has its pretty sights and its not-so-pretty sights. You can see two examples below ...
A "Not-So-Pretty" Sight
The stairwell leading up to our apartment on the 3rd floor definitely qualifies as "not-so-pretty." Our girls are pros at zipping up and down these stairs. You can watch below or click here to see Moriah climbing down our not-so-pretty stairwell.
A "Pretty" Sight
Did you know this country is bidding for the Olympic Games? I always say that it will only work in our favor as they are working feverishly to "upgrade" this city. It seems like every day they are unveiling new renovations and upgrades. Take this park, for instance. I took Moriah out for a walk last week and enjoyed this park that just re-opened a few weeks ago.
Anyhow, we can show you more photos once we're back "home" (although "home" is now a trickier word to define for our family). Only a few more days!!!
PS SUMMER CAR UPDATE: First of all, a HUGE thank you to Manoj & Alexis Alipuria who so graciously offered to let us drive one of their cars this summer! The Alipurias are good friends and fellow Bruins. Alexis was Jenni's Chi Omega grand 'lil sis and they are soon-to-be parents of a beautiful baby from Ethiopia! You guys are so generous!!! A few days after we read their email, Jenni's parents announced that they had purchased a new car which we will get to borrow this summer! So, yet another provision from God ... thank you! Now, we need to borrow a few car seats in California and Tennessee. Anyone willing to lend us a couple?

thank you for adding that last request... i was home last friday and mom wanted to go and get two new seats (honestly might want to check if she hasn't already) for you guys and i said, "why dont you ask around first?" she said,"we will need them again in two years." or whenever your next trip is... so YES, lets try to save money for the boba and not on car seats if at all possible :) oh and dad got both of you car keys, he's too funny, normally not a big deal but the new cars come with laser cut keys and you dont run to home depot for that... can't wait to see you at LAX!!! ~your curb to home service provider aka jake
Of course your trip to Memphis is when we will be in Southern California. Sounds like you will have a fun filled summer!
Love watching that ticker count down. Come on May 20!
