Celebrating Adoptions

My sorority big sis, Sherry, does a fantastic job on her website of posting photos of her friends' weddings and new babies. I feared that if I tried to do that here as well, I would inadvertently forget someone. So ... I have been hesitant to copy her fabulous idea.

BUT as our heart for adoption grows, we have decided to celebrate our friends' adoptions on our blog. (Since there are fewer adoptions, I feel like I can keep up with these more easily without forgetting someone.)

The first two adoptions we will highlight here are special to us in that both families (who do not know each other) adopted from David's old "hometown" of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The Estes Family

We want to celebrate with our friends, Brad & Christine, over their new son, Benjamin Talant!

David knows Christine from their undergrad years at Vanderbilt University. God had already blessed the Este
s Family with 2 darling daughters and 1 sweet son when they felt God calling them to adopt their 4th child.

Benjamin (seated on Brad's lap) came home April 2007 from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and has been a joy & blessing to this North Carolina family!

The Berk Family

We also want to celebrate with our friends, Mike & Jen, over their new son, Joshua James!

Joshua (seated on Mike's lap) also came home to this Southern Californian family from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in 2007. We know Mike & Jen from our years in California and are thrilled that after being blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, they have followed God's call to adopt their 3rd child.

Aren't they adorable? Congratulations to both families! We look forward to meeting your two boys! And if any of you adopt in the future, we would love to celebrate with you on our blog! We will add your photos to our adoption photo gallery found in the righthand column.
