Happy Meals

For those who know me well, you know that I'm not a big fan of McDonald's.

For a mom who liked to make homemade baby food from organic produce, I was pretty determined at one point not to introduce our girls to the world of fast food.

Recently, however, it became one of my dad's favorite outings with the girls ... to take them to lunch at McDonald's and to let them play in the kid's area for a bit. This proved to be especially helpful while we were trying to pack during the 2 weeks we lived in their home.

And when we saw that there was a play area in the Frankfurt airport's McDonald's, we were more than happy to give our girls a familiar treat after that 10-hour leg.

Now that we are living here ... I must confess that I am now VERY THANKFUL for the McDonald's in town. In a place where their whole world has changed, I am relieved that they can periodically enjoy a familiar Happy Meal to ease the transition. The photo above shows Verity and Annalise playing on the slide this afternoon and below is a photo of how they write "McDonald's" in Russian (though that is not the language I am studying here).

And yes... the food tastes the same.

the girls look so precious and happy. I have a box of materials for Verity's preschool. Do you have suggestions of things that they are in need of? Lots and lots of love.

hi guys! We've been to the McDonald's in the Frankfurt airport! I just remember having to recycle every bit of paper or plastic... there were no trashcans! We miss you so much! Oh, did you post a "wishlist" on this website?

the pictures are great! LOVE THEM!
