Turkey Talk
Well, we made it! We made it to Thanksgiving dinner this year. For our blog readers who have been with us since last year, you may remember that all five of us were ill last November (throwing up, etc) and we had to miss our very first overseas Thanksgiving.
But not this year ... all five of us were healthy and eager to celebrate Thanksgiving with some of our friends. We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well.
Making carrot souffle was a family affair. Verity wanted to learn how to use a vegetable peeler so we just spread some newspapers on the kitchen floor and they went to town peeling 2 kilos of carrots for me. (Excuse the outfits, everybody just rolled out of bed.)
This was my first year ever (!!) eating at the "adults table" for Thanksgiving. Back in California, all my aunts, uncles and parents still fill the "adult" tables and I still sat with our daughters at the kids table. I graduated this year! Here is the real kids table. (Sorry, I couldn't find a shot without Annalise showing off the turkey in her mouth.) And look, Aunt Ida, we put the honeycomb turkey you mailed us to good use! =)
The beautiful adult table ... there were plenty of delicious dishes to enjoy that evening. Good food and good fellowship. The family who hosted our evening said that during the past 2 weeks, their electricity had been going out for around 8 hours a day! She bought extra candles in case their lights also went out on Thanksgiving Day. But thankfully, the electricity didn't go out all day!
Annalise was one of the Indians in her preschool's Thanksgiving play. There were segments of the program where she sang & danced her heart out and other segments where she opted to sit on Mommy's lap. We were thrilled to be able to support Annalise in her very first school performance. Verity even skipped kindergarten that day so that all five of us could participate in Annalise's special day. I joked to Verity's kindergarten teacher (who was also at the Thanksgiving program watching her daughter) ... "I love that Verity can play hooky from kindergarten with her kindergarten teacher." Only here.
Now the Williams Clan is looking forward to our special Advent celebrations and traditions. We hope each of you enjoy a very special Christmas season as well!

Glad you were all healthy this year. The girls look adorable in their Thanksgiving day dresses. It's funny how I've never met them in person, but from the photos, videos and stories on your blog, I get a real sense of their individual personalities. Verity seems like such a good big sister, Annalise seems like she is hilarious and personality plus, and Moriah seems like such a sweet baby sister. Hope you all have a very merry Christmas. Love, Sherry
